Sometimes it takes a moment of being plugged out of all the noise to cause us to stop and talk to God. We are so busy with so many things that demand our attention and focus that by the time we have a quiet moment, all we want to do is sleep. But life needs us to talk to God. Doing life well and staying on the path that leads to greater and better requires us to stop and talk to God.

God is the creator of life. He designed life. Don’t you think He would be the best Person to know everything about your life? No person, book, Google site or app have all the answers to life’s difficult questions except the One who created it. What do we do when our child is sick and the doctors have given little or no hope at all? What do we do when our marriage has suffered infidelity and we are not able to forgive our spouse? What do we do when we need to make an important decision regarding our finances but don’t know if there would be any negative consequences from that decision? What do we do? Often times, we go to ‘that friend’ who seems to have all the answers. Or we go to our Pastors and leaders who should know all the answers, so we think. Or we go sourcing for books or Google sites that could help tell us what to do. I’m not saying these are bad or even wrong choices to seek help and counsel from. They are all well and good. However, the FIRST PRIORITY and FIRST PERSON we go to should be the Creator of life itself. Why? Because He is not a distant God who does not know or care about what we go through. On the contrary, He is a loving Father who gave us life and even came down in Person to the earth to understand, sympathise with, provide solution and save us from all we will go through in this world.

He is the Source of Life and the Answer. He is the Beginning and the End. He is both Provider and Saviour. He wants us to go to Him and talk to Him. To do that, we need to make some quiet time where we can hear His still small voice. Sometimes, in these difficult and challenging situations, we tend to talk too much about our problems to get the right counsel and bear in mind that He will not talk over you. He is the Perfect Gentleman and will not invade your will if you do not invite Him to override it. There are 2 ways you can go to Him directly for the perfect counsel that would get you through a difficult circumstance.

1) The Word – the Bible is more than a religious book. It is Hope. It is Destiny. It is Wisdom. It is Counsel and Love altogether. You will never ever miss a step or make the wrong decision if you truly seek for an answer from His Word. So I encourage you to take time out of your situation to dig deep into the treasure of His Word to find your answer. It’s in there.

2) Prayer – nothing beats talking to God. Prayer is simply talking to God and He talking back to you. He doesn’t yell. He doesn’t judge. He doesn’t condemn or criticize. He will listen to everything and when you allow, He gently speaks to you in a still small voice. No pushing. No arguing. You do not need to justify your case because He knows it all. You do not need to prove your innocence because He saw it all and He will intervene if you keep still. Because the battle is His.

So I encourage you to go to Him and talk to Him today about everything that is bothering you. You don’t need to worry if He is going to spread rumours about you or spill the beans to someone else. It’s safe with Him. You can trust Him. He cares for you. He wants to help you. More importantly, He wants to speak to you. You will have a great peace when you leave it all at the altar for Him to carry. Don’t be disheartened, dear friends, He is waiting for you to speak to Him. He will welcome you with open arms. Talk to Him.

1 Peter 5:7 – cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you.
